Medicare Supplement Plan G 2017

Plan G might get overlooked sometimes, when it comes to Medicare supplement plans, but it could very well be the most cost effective out of all the plans. The value it provides you for the price and coverage is amazing, especially when compared to some of the other plans. Your mileage with the plan is all going to depend on how much you pay for it, of course, but Medicare Supplement Plan G for 2017 is often a good deal no matter where you get it from.

Now this plan can only work for you if you meet certain requirements. For instance, since this is a high-coverage plan, you need to have a lot of medical expenses to really get much value from it. If you are in reasonably good health and rarely visit the hospital, then this plan is just going to be a lot of extra coverage you don’t need. But for those with major medical needs and lot of healthcare expenses, this plan is often perfect.

Medicare Supplement Plan G 2017As a high -overage plan, it manages to take care of most supplemental expenses. These include nursing services and hospice care (Part A coinsurance). It also includes coverage for Medicare Part B excess charges. That’s not a terribly large expenses like some of the others, but every bit of coverage helps sometimes.

Also covered under this plan are all copayments (both Medicare Part A and part B) as well as the Medicare Part A deductible. The Part B deductible receives no coverage with this plan, however. That’s something you will have to pay on your own. But if you don’t visit the hospital frequently, then it should not be a big deal.

Under the coverage of Medicare Supplement Plan G for 2017 you can also forget having to pay for a lot of your emergency care in foreign countries. The plan takes care of 80% of that expense, after you have paid the requisite deductible. In fact, Plan G will cover you up to $50,000 for this expense.

It also takes care of you for another three pints of blood. This coverage gets renewed for you each year. That’s important to note, as some of the coverage is finite and expires after you hit a certain limit. One example of that would be the hospice care, which is only covering you for 365 days out of your plan’s lifetime. Once that coverage is gone, it is gone forever. That’s how it is with all the supplement plans though. Still, the coverage provided by plan G is going to be plenty for most people. If you are one of those Medicare subscribers who needs a ton of extra coverage, and you have considered a plan like Plan F, then you may want to reconsider and try out Plan G instead.

The coverage between the two plans is very similar, but Medicare Supplement Plan G for 2017 tends to be more cost effective for most people. If you feel like the plans you are looking at are too expense or don’t have enough coverage for you, then consider this one.
